Serving People Living With A Brain Injury & Their Families In Northern BC

NBIA Brain Injury Support Group Meetings
Brain Injury

PTSD, TBI and Addiction Substance Abuse

Many Active Duty Service Members and veterans of the Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom have experienced concussive injury, post-traumatic brain injuries and are now experiencing substance use disorders. Interventions for any one of these requires the treatment team to be aware of the others as the combined effects are cumulative.

This presentation will review the basic science of the injuries and the relationship with substance use disorders.
