Serving People Living With A Brain Injury & Their Families In Northern BC

NBIA Brain Injury Support Group Meetings

iPad So iCan Campaign

iPad So iCan

DONATION CAMPAIGN

The iPad So iCan program is a fundraising effort by UNBC Masters Certificate in Project Management Students. Students will raise awareness about brain injury, and to provide technological solutions to challenges injured persons have receiving post-acute rehabilitative brain injury services in their communities throughout northeastern BC.

The survival rates from brain injury have increased dramatically just in the last few decades due to improved medical procedures and technologies. This means more people per year are now living with the life altering effects of brain injury.

While emergency medical assistance in BC is superb, many patients are sent home once stabilized and receive little to no follow up or community based rehabilitative services.

When brains are injured, they heal much slower than other parts of our bodies. Brain injury is often invisible, so while a person may appear to be healthy, they are in fact hurt and trying to heal. How well they can heal depends on many factors, but it’s well documented that when people living with a brain injury are able to access community based rehabilitative services, they improve more quickly, and to a greater degree.

The “iPad So iCan” program will provide iPads to help those with an acquired brain injury to receive services remotely, such as speaking to a case manager, consulting with professionals and peer support, all without the cost and hassle of travel.

There are 2 ways to contribute:

– SPONSOR the purchase of an iPad for $500, or
– DONATE cash to contribute toward the purchase of iPads

Sponsors and Donors Will Receive:

  1. Recognition on the NBIA website for one year
  2. Recognition on Facebook and other social media platforms
  3. Recognition on the back of iPads
  4. Recognition in media releases
  5. Sponsor name and logo (or donor name) on campaign marketing materials
  6. Sponsor name and logo (or donor name) on a poster displayed at the regional office recognizing the iPad sponsors.
